"We objectively have an increase of around 400 more prisoners every month in Italian prisons.
To date we have 60,814 prisoners. Of these, 43 thousand are common and the others are divided into high security and 41 bis. But we are still far from the numbers that triggered the so-called Torreggiani sentence ".

An agreement with Albania so that Albanian prisoners in Italy can serve their sentences in their own country in exchange for professional training.
This is the hypothesis that is being worked on, according to Russo, at the hearing in the Justice Committee.
"At a cost of 34 euros per day for each Albanian prisoner imprisoned in its prisons, the United Kingdom has stipulated an agreement with Albania to serve the sentence in his country. We - explained Russo - came up with the idea of replicating the same agreement with some modification: do not send money to Albania but provide penitentiary-type services".
