The national cardiovascular prevention initiative "Open Cardiologies 2024" is back, organized by the Foundation for Your Heart and Anmco.
From 12 February to 18 February, 600 cardiologists will answer the toll-free number 800 05 22 33 with the aim of preventing some of the most common cardiovascular diseases for a total of over 1300 hours of free cardiological consultancy.
Personalized cardiological screenings and training events are also available with a focus on atrial fibrillation, cardio-oncology, gender cardiology, heart failure and prevention of modifiable risk factors.
"Cardiovascular diseases represent the first cause of hospitalization, as well as mortality, confirming themselves together with tumors among the main causes of disability - explains Domenico Gabrielli, president of the Foundation for Your Heart of the National Association of Hospital Cardiologists and Director of Cardiology of the San Camillo Hospital in Rome - The initiative will also be an opportunity to launch the pilot project of the "Cardio Oncology Passport", an electronic file for all cancer patients with the aim of obtaining a cardiovascular classification of the patients before starting the therapies, identify any complications caused by the latter, even after years, and at the same time guarantee the best treatment for heart disease patients.
