Perfect alternative to potato chips.
Pretzels are amazing!
Unfortunately, the pretzel pastries are no longer usable the next day.
Therefore, in the spirit of #nofoodwaste, we are remedying the situation and showing you a delicious way to reuse old pretzels.
The result is impressive and also stands up to run-of-the-mill potato chips.
When sealed airtight, the pretzel chips stay crispy for a few days and are therefore perfect as a souvenir for a party!
That's how it's done:
You need these ingredients:
Pretzel chips:
5 pretzels from the day before
30 ml cooking oil
0.5 tsp garlic powder
30 ml barbecue sauce
Cheese dip:
30g butter
1 tbsp flour
200 ml milk
0.5 tsp pepper
0.5 tsp salt
300 g cheddar, grated
Aside from that:
Spring onions, cut into thin rings
The preparation is very easy:
Preheat oven to 150 °C fan oven.
For the pretzel chips:
Cut the pretzels into slices about 1 cm thick.
Mix well in a bowl with cooking oil, garlic powder and barbecue sauce.
Place on a tray lined with baking paper and bake for about 45 minutes until the chips are golden brown and crispy.
Turn occasionally during baking.
Allow to cool completely.
For the cheese dip:
Heat butter in a pot.
Add flour and fry briefly.
Add milk while stirring constantly and bring to the boil.
Add pepper, salt and cheddar, reduce heat and stir until homogeneous.
Pour into a bowl and decorate with spring onions if desired.
Serve the pretzel chips with the cheese dip.
Et voila!
Bon appetit!
Take these pretzel chips with cheese dip as a gift at your next invitation and the hosts will love you.
