After the approval of the first articles on the president's superpowers, when one of the main obstacles in the discussion in the Chamber of Deputies seemed to be behind us, the Freedom Advances (Lla, Milei's formation) withdrew the full text of the omnibus bill, which now returns to the starting point, that of commissions.
The move was dictated by a lack of consensus on key points of the initiative, such as privatizations and security issues.
The government accused the so-called dialogue opposition of "betrayal" by promising a showdown, while Milei, from Israel, where he is on an official visit, vented his bitterness in a post on his X profile: "The caste has opposed to the change that the Argentines voted for at the polls".
"We decided to send the project back to the commissions, because we saw the lack of will to accompany the reforms proposed by the president.
The most important mandates, which allowed the deregulation of the economy, were rejected.
In this way it made no sense to continue with the discussion of the law" point by point, "because it had lost its essence", explained the Minister of the Interior, Guillermo Francos. "There were commitments that were not respected - he indicated the minister -.
Those who supported the project" in the general vote "did not keep their vote" during the point-by-point analysis. "Politics does not reflect what the Argentine people voted for - concluded Francos -.

In particular, the governors of the provinces are in the eye of the storm, accused of blackmail attempts.
"Betrayal is paid dearly. Freedom advances does not allow governors to blackmail the people to maintain their privileges", the Milei formation railed from social media.
And fiery messages also started from the profile of the Bureau, with accusations against "the governors of having destroyed the omnibus law, article by article, a few hours after agreeing to support it".
Only a handful of days ago, Milei had celebrated his first half-victory in the Chamber of Deputies, which had granted an initial partial green light, on the text in general, with a total of 144 votes in favor and 109 against, after three days of exhausting discussions and a marathon negotiation that had reduced the mammoth project, which started with over 600 articles, and was almost halved.
