In doing so, she set a record.
A few months ago, a mysterious book was hyped that it was supposed to be the biography of the musician Taylor Swift.
The book “Argylle” by Elly Conway was published in German in January.
Some consider the pop icon to be the author of the book.
But what is behind this theory?

The film adaptation also started at the beginning of February.
Who is behind Elly Conway?
There is an account with the same name on Instagram, but it doesn't really reveal much about the author.
So it seems reasonable to assume that it is a pseudonym.
But who is behind it?
What makes it all the more interesting is that there was a bidding war over the film rights for the book.
According to the English
Daily Mail,
a sum of $200 million was said to have been discussed.
And what does Taylor Swift have to do with it?
After the film's release, more and more reports appeared on social networks that there were parallels between the content and the world of Taylor Swift.
From this, some concluded that Conway must be Taylor Swift.
A first clue is the last name.
The syllable “Con” indicates a pseudonym.
In the English-speaking world, a “con artist” is a con artist.
Reason enough for Swift fans to continue looking for similarities.

The secret was revealed at the film premiere
However, at the start of “Argylle”, British film producer Matthew Vaugn revealed a secret that many had already been waiting for.
He commented on the speculation surrounding the mysterious writer.
Vaugn made it clear: “It's not Taylor Swift, but books don't come about by themselves. How I wish they did.
How I wish scripts would write themselves.
How I would like films to direct themselves.
(...) There is an Elly Conway.
I urge Elly Conway to come forward because this Taylor Swift story is driving me to despair.”

But who Elly Conway is still remains to be seen.

thinks it has solved the secret.
This is supposed to be Tammy Cohen, who has already written several thrillers, including “Today You Will Die” and “You Don’t Die Alone”.
The journalist Sophia Nguyen took a closer look at the book and the acknowledgments in “Argylle” and went looking for clues.
As long as the pseudonym is not revealed, the rumors will not stop.
