Microbiological contamination is a common reason for recalls.
Now there is a warning about a meat product - five federal states are affected.
Kassel - Aspic products, which for decades were considered poor people's food and had a rather niche existence, have enjoyed greater popularity again since the "nose to tail" trend.
According to the
German Nutrition Society (DGE),
brawn products are low in fat and calories and the preparation options are varied.
But brawn lovers should now take another look in their refrigerators.
As the portal
lebensmittelwarning.de
informs, a product from the manufacturer “Heidjerkaten Fleischwaren Uwe Kohlhase Handels GmbH” is currently being recalled.
If consumed, there is a risk of serious health damage.
A dessert recall was recently launched due to salmonella.

Food poisoning: Certain germs and bacteria can cause this in the body
According to the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL),
common reasons for a recall are
microbiological contamination (bacteria such as Salmonella, Campylobacter or E.coli, mold or even viruses).
Most food-borne infections occur when eating foods of animal origin, i.e. meat, sausage, eggs or dairy products that are contaminated with pathogens.
According to the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR)
, among others, the germs and bacteria contained in brawn can
cause the following symptoms:
E.coli:
E.coli bacteria belong to the Shiga toxin-producing strain
Escherichia coli (STEC).
If these enter the human body, they can have serious health consequences, including organ damage, cerebral hemorrhages and neurological disorders.
The E. coli strains STEC and EHEC can also cause bloody diarrhea (hemorrhagic colitis) and kidney failure (hemolytic uremic syndrome).
Enterobacteria:
Some species of Enterobacter can cause a variety of diseases in humans.
Infections with these germs have led, among other things, to blood poisoning or inflammation of organs.
People whose immune systems are weakened, who suffer from a serious previous illness, who have been treated surgically or who belong to another sensitive group are particularly at risk.
According to the
BAV Institute,
most enterobacteria in many foods are considered general hygiene indicator germs.
In large numbers, they can lead to food spoilage.
Coagulase-positive staphylococci:
Toxin-producing staphylococcal strains can cause food-borne poisoning (intoxication) in humans.
Typical symptoms of staphylococcal poisoning include vomiting, nausea, diarrhea and circulatory problems.
According to the
World Health Organization (WHO),
foodborne infections are among the most common human diseases
.
Listeria has also often been found in food products.
A vegetable recall was launched at Edeka in December
