"Four people were killed, including two civilians, in Israeli attacks on the city of Homs."
This was announced by Rami Abdel Rahman, who directs the NGO Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The Syrian Defense Ministry reported that "the Israeli enemy launched airstrikes from the direction north of Tripoli (Lebanon) targeting a number of sites in the city of Homs and its countryside... killing and wounding a number of civilians."
Syrian state television broadcast some images showing rescuers searching through the rubble of what appears to be a collapsed building and carrying bodies on stretchers.
Abdel Rahman, who heads the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, told AFP that the building hit in Homs had completely collapsed.
Previously, Syrian state television had spoken of an "Israeli assault" in central Syria, in the province of Homs.
