A manufacturer is recalling a dessert that is available to buy at Rewe and Kaufland.
Consumption can cause dangerous gastrointestinal diseases.
Munich - Whether Italian classics like panna cotta and tiramisu, French delicacies like crème brûlée and mousse au chocolat or oriental confectionery specialties like baklava and helva - the dessert selection in supermarkets and discounters is now a colorful mix.
But dessert lovers should be careful now.
As the portal
produktwarning.eu
informs, the Mannheim food retailer BLG Kardesler GmbH is recalling a confectionery specialty from the “Suntat” brand as a precautionary measure.
The reason for the measure is that salmonella was found in a batch.
Consumption is strongly discouraged.
A major cake recall was recently launched - it could be dangerously contaminated.

Salmonella is the most common cause of a recall - these symptoms can occur
Salmonella is a bacteria that, according to
Präzisionsschutz.de
, most often enters the human digestive tract through food.
Last year, salmonella was the most common cause of recalls in Germany.
This was the result of an evaluation by the Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL).
Typical symptoms include sudden diarrhea, headaches and stomach pains, general malaise and occasionally vomiting.
Fever also occurs frequently.
Infants, small children, seniors and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.
Customers who experience the above symptoms after consuming the product should seek medical attention immediately.
There are many reasons for a recall.
They can range from food to cosmetics and items.
According to consumer advocates, if there is any suspicion of unsafe food or product defects, companies must recall them immediately.
In January, the Swedish furniture store Ikea recalled a USB charger because of possible dangers.
