The latest pension reform came into force on September 1, 2023. And with the gradual postponement of the retirement age from 62 to 64, workers will have to work a little longer than expected to leave with a full pension.
Especially if they have not acquired the necessary number of quarters, which will also gradually increase from 169 to 172. Sometimes, however, leaving with the full rate is not enough to maintain your standard of living.
In France the replacement rate, that is to say the percentage of one's old salary that one receives once one retires, is around 50%.
And even if the costs weighing on retired households must decrease, particularly if they have become the owner of their main residence, the amount of the pension may seem unsatisfactory.
Be aware, however, that nothing is over!
There is still time to give your pensions a boost, whether you are still working or have already left your job.
Depending on your sector of activity, your physical fitness and your motivation, there is no shortage of solutions and the reform has even boosted them.
Here is the list.
