Marco Lanna is no longer the president of Sampdoria, a role he has held since December 2021 at the most difficult moment when the club was experiencing the transition between the old ownership and the wait for a new majority shareholder.
The news is official following the company's press release which explains that Lanna has expressed his decision to also resign from his role within the board of directors.
In the club's note, in addition to the thanks, the hope of finding each other again: "In the planning of the company restructuring there will certainly be no shortage of opportunities to get closer and build a new common path in the context of a relationship that certainly does not end today", writes the company.
A storm in the home of Sampdoria with Lanna who would have made this decision after a series of episodes, the last one would be linked to the lack of invitation to Porto Antico when the team together with the coach Andrea Pirlo and the reference shareholder Matteo Manfredi went to see the docufilm "La bellastagione ", dedicated to the Scudetto-winning Sampdoria of which Lanna had been a splendid protagonist.
The future is not mapped out.
Maybe their paths could cross again if the Sampdoria Foundation proposed by Lanna was born, but now the only certainty is a divorce which has shaken the Dorian environment.
