It is the fashion week of the debut of Walter Chiapponi as creative director of Blumarine, of Adrian Appiolaza at Moschino and of Matteo Tamburini at Tod's, scheduled in Milan from 20 to 26 February.

Created with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the ICE Agency and the Municipality of Milan, the week dedicated to the fall winter 2024-25 collections sees 161 appointments including fashion shows, presentations and events on the calendar.

Feben supported by Dolce&Gabbana and Sagaboi will show for the first time, while Marni and Elisabetta Franchi return to the official calendar.

"Milan is ready to welcome the Fashion Week dedicated to women and the estimates - says Alessia Cappello, Councilor for Work and Economic Development of the Municipality of Milan, with mandates for Fashion and Design - already speak of growth in terms of presences in the city more by 10% compared to last year, with an estimated related industry of over 70 million".

For the week, "over 100 thousand people are expected, of which over 50 thousand foreigners, much above the pre-Covid data" adds the president of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion, Carlo Capasa.

The only flaw is the compression of the calendar, with February 20th dedicated to conferences, the 26th entirely dedicated to digital fashion shows and 5 very crowded central days.

For this reason Capasa hopes that from September there will be one more day on the calendar: "We are talking with our partners about September, I hope - he says - that we will close the negotiation in the next two months. We are starting from a situation in which we are compressed, but we aim to have one more day open."

This time, the exhibition will open with the 'Including Diversity' press conference organized by the National Anti-Racial Discrimination Office of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, together with Camera Moda and African Fashion Gate.

Also on the 20th, the Fashion Hub of Palazzo Giureconsulti will open, which will also host projects in this edition that focus on innovation, craftsmanship, sustainability and valorization of differences.

To support emerging brands, Camera Moda also announced the opening of the call for the assignment of the CNMI Fashion Trust Grant 2024, promoted by the Camera Moda Fashion Trust, where in 2023 Chiara Ferragni joined as a member of the Advisory Committee.

After being registered in the register of suspects with the hypothesis of aggravated fraud, companies such as Safilo and Pigna broke off relations with the digital entrepreneur, while the Trust took a different position: "We don't crucify people before they do so justice, the media aspect - underlines Capasa - is not the beacon of our choices".

Everyone, obviously, is wondering if the influencer will be in the front row at the next fashion shows: "We'll see in a few days, it's part of his personal relationships, I'm convinced that he's going through a complicated moment, he'll make his decisions and at this moment - he concludes Capasa - I just feel like respecting them. We by nature are guaranteeists."
