Millions of Pakistanis began voting this morning in a parliamentary election marred by allegations of fraud.
Authorities said they will suspend mobile phone services across the country during the vote "to maintain law and order."
"It has been decided to temporarily suspend mobile service," a spokesperson for Pakistan's Interior Ministry said in a statement, noting that "precious lives have been lost" in recent militant attacks and that "security measures are essential to address potential threats."
At least 28 people were killed yesterday in two bomb explosions outside candidates' offices in southwestern Pakistan, in attacks claimed by ISIS.
