The agricultural redemption event scheduled for Friday in Piazza S.Giovanni in Rome has been cancelled.
"It is believed not to proceed with the demonstration,
but to only bring a delegation of 10 tractors to San Giovanni, as a symbol of the protest",
the movement communicates in a note.
"All the demonstrators with their agricultural vehicles will remain to raise public awareness, remaining at the garrisons,
all so as not to further undermine the great support received up to now from all Italian citizens, who for many days have been supporting and inciting the farmers' resistance,
despite the many days of inconvenience that the demonstrations brought to Italian streets".
"On Friday the 9th we will have a procession with four tractors in the center of Rome. They don't rule out the possibility that we will also pass in front of the Colosseum"
.
This was said by Maurizio Sanigagliesi of Riscattoagricoltura, at the end of a meeting in the prefecture
.
"We are waiting for a response from the police headquarters and prefecture to organize a procession on the ring road on Friday evening with the tractors of our garrison" he adds, reiterating that
the group has requested a meeting with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Minister Francesco Lollobrigida.
"We expect a response by Saturday" adds Sanigagliesi.
In the afternoon Andrea Papa from Riscatto agricultural had spoken of an ultimatum to minister Lollobrigida. "If we don't have answers, our tractors will leave the garrison and go free" for Rome.
"We want a meeting with the minister but so far no one has contacted us
- he adds - Tomorrow's demonstration in San Giovanni is the only positive result of these days and tomorrow morning our ten tractors will move from the garrison escorted by the police" .
But if the minister does not respond to the ultimatum which expires on Saturday at 12, he concludes, the tractors "will go free for the city".
The response from the minister from Berlin was not long in coming.
The farmers' delegations "I have already met them" and "we are meeting associations".
All the associations in Italy have a "dialectical relationship" with the government, said the
Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry.
"I don't have the problem of meeting when I think they are good people", I met "many delegations, or individuals or groups"
.
The minister recalled that there is an "archipelago of situations", but that "there are some who are evidently used as testimonials for positions that have little to do with representation".
The farmers' delegations, explained the minister,
"I have already met them in Avezzano, in Verona, I also met them individually at the ministry".
And also on the occasion of the Fruit Logistica fair in Berlin Lollobrigida also had the opportunity to see and speak with numerous other representatives of the sector.
"The problem is that there is an archipelago of situations, in which a large part are good people who work, exasperated, they can't take it anymore.
Then there are some who are evidently used as testimonials for positions that have little to do with the representation",
added Lollobrigida, and are exploited or do not have "the objective of solving problems".
On possible farmers' protests in Rome, Lollobrigida said: "I expect the demonstrations to be in line with people who work, who produce, who ask to be respected because they want to be free to work, produce and create wealth. And therefore by people of this kind I expect peaceful demonstrations that respect the rules."

Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti
said this
while responding to question time in the Senate.
"This measure, therefore, could be included in the first useful regulatory vehicle - which could also be the Milleproroghe law decree currently being examined by the Chamber".
Agricultural ransom, 'If we don't go on stage we'll block Sanremo'
"If we cannot get on the Ariston stage, we will be forced to concentrate on Sanremo, starting from tomorrow, all the tractors of the Lombardy, Piedmont and Liguria garrisons,
which are already organizing themselves to potentially reach Sanremo by tomorrow or Saturday morning".
Agricultural redemption underlined this in a note.
"Until today we have demonstrated a high sense of responsibility, which however has not been repaid as
no one has contacted us so far", adds the movement.
The seven tractors that arrived in Sanremo at dawn, coming from Melegnano, stopped near the flower market, and left escorted by the police towards the center.
"Four of our kids should be able to go on stage at the Ariston", said one of the spokespersons for 'Riscatto agricultural', speaking of the possibility that a group of young farmers, who arrived at dawn with tractors from Melegnano to Sanremo, would be invited to speak from the stage of the Sanremo festival.
"A document could also be prepared", he concluded.
Meanwhile, the announcement arrived during the 12pm press conference:
the tractor protest will take place at the Festival on Friday with a statement read by Amadeus.

Farmers in procession in Foggia, the 'symbolic' tractors are stopped
The procession of farmers who will walk through the city center has started in Foggia.
The tractors "symbol of the demonstration" are stationary: two vehicles are parked in front of the municipal villa of Foggia while two others are in Piazza Giordano where the procession will end.
Around 200 people are taking part in the event, including farmers, students, citizens and some mayors of the municipalities in the province.
In Piazza Giordano the farmers will explain to the citizens the reasons for the protest that they have been carrying out for days by gathering with tractors.
In particular, farmers contest European policies, believing them to be harmful to the sector.
"We want to raise awareness among the population of the problems of agriculture - underlined one of the farmers present, Edoardo Antonetti - our objective is to inform the population on why it has come to this, keeping in mind that many of our problems can be solved at a national level and above all not with the allocation of further funds".
