Covid: infections, victims and hospitalizations drop in 7 days - Healthcare

Highlights: There are 2,992 new positive cases with a variation of -22.5% compared to the previous week (3,859) 95 victims, down by 17.4% (there were 115 a week ago) 142,934 swabs carried out (-5, 4%) while the positivity rate is 2.1%. Hospitalizations are also decreasing: the employment rate in the medical area as of 7 February was 2.9% (1,792 hospitalised) on 31 January.

There are 2,992 new positive cases with a variation of -22.5% compared to the previous week (3,859), 95 victims, down by 17.4% (there were 115 a week ago) and 142,934 swabs carried out (-5, 4%) while the positivity rate is 2.1% with a change of -0.5% compared to the previous week (2.6%).

It emerges from the latest bulletin of the Ministry of Health-ISS relating to the week 1-7 February 2024 regarding the progress of the epidemiological situation from Covid-19.


    Hospitalizations are also decreasing: the employment rate in the medical area as of 7 February was 2.9% (1,792 hospitalised) compared to 3.5% (2,169 hospitalised) on 31 January and that in intensive care was 1 .0% (87 hospitalized) compared to 1.2% (106 hospitalized) on 01/31/2024.


    "The consolidation of the data on the endemicity of Sars-CoV-2 and the increasingly significant reduction of the impact on hospital structures are the clear and indisputable fruit of the goodness and effectiveness of the prevention and communication activities implemented", states Francesco Vaia , general director of Health Prevention of the Ministry of Health.
