The request for a 4-year plea bargain, which had been approved by the prosecutor, was rejected for Bogdan Pasca, 33 years old, accused of vehicular homicide for having run over, drunk and without a valid licence, on board a van on 17 July in Garbagnate Milanese, a bike with two 15 year olds, one of whom, Valentino Colia, died, while the girl was seriously injured.
The investigating judge Luca Milani decided this, considering the proposed sentence to be incongruous.
The victim's family members, along with lawyer Carlo Fontana, opposed the plea agreement.
Family members who were in court with friends and companions of the 15-year-old, who were wearing t-shirts with his face.
