This Sunday (February 11th) Maria Furtwängler and Florence Kasumba part ways.

The actresses in “Tatort: Ghost Ride” investigate as a team one last time.

You can find out what happens next here.

Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) announced “a grand finale” for the sixth and final joint case involving Maria Furtwängler (57) and Florence Kasumba (47).

This Sunday, the “Tatort” detectives parted ways far less spectacularly than expected.

There is a lot of explosive material in the ARD crime thriller “Ghost Ride,” which the first shows at 8:15 p.m., but the coolness and bitterness allow it to fizzle out rather quietly.

The script, which director Christine Hartmann wrote together with Stefan Dähnert, remains true to the role profile of the investigators.

Charlotte Lindholm (played by Maria Furtwängler) is unable to become a team player despite therapy, while her colleague Anais Schmitz (Florence Kasumba) continues to display her aloofness.

A happy couple?

Things get quite personal in the episode “Ghost Ride”.

Criminal director Gerd Liebig (Luc Feit) celebrates his 60th birthday at the Göttingen police headquarters, in the presence of his team and his magical wife Tereza (Bibiana Beglau).

But the relaxed mood is only short-lived: there was a serious accident in the neighboring old town.

A parcel truck crashed into a crowd.

The sad result: one dead and several seriously injured, including the young Romanian driver Ilie Balan (Adrian Djokic).

A shooting spree, a terrorist attack or just fatigue after a triple shift?

Lower Saxony's largest parcel service is being targeted by the investigation, but because the subcontractors' subcontractors are at work here, it is difficult to hold anyone responsible.

“As long as we are all unwilling to pay appropriately for services, there will always be workers like Mr. Balan,” says the company boss, unmoved.

So far so socially critical.

But for the last case together, the filmmakers still have an emotional ace up their sleeve - a story about the superior Gerd Liebig (Luc Feit) and his wife, who is also an accident doctor at the university hospital and speaks fluent Romanian.

The question of what will happen to the long-held flirtation between Inspector Lindholm and forensic doctor Nick Schmitz (Daniel Donskoy) is also part of this final guest appearance in Göttingen.

There should be no spoilers at this point.

Just this much: “Tatort” Commissioner Lindholm will return to the State Criminal Police Office in Hanover after six missions.

And for Florence Kasumba alias Anais Schmitz there is a one-off mission with the Federal Police Commissioner Thorsten Falke (Wotan Wilke Möhring).

The episode has just been filmed and is expected to be shown on Das Erste in 2025.
