Independent candidates linked to jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan are leading elections in Pakistan, local TV channels reported.
The electoral commission has not announced a single official result for the National Assembly more than 11 hours after the election ended, but unofficial counts from television channels show that independent candidates are leading in most constituencies.
On the eve, however, it was expected that the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz of three-time prime minister Nawaz Sharif would win the largest number of seats, with the military taking the place.
