A year ago, she had not yet released an album and had only given a handful of concerts, including a very notable appearance at the Trans Musicales in Rennes.
A year later, here is Zaho de Sagazan queen of the 39th Victoires de la Musique.
And not just a little!
At only 24 years old, the singer and musician achieved a feat with her first album: leaving with four Victories.
She won album of the year with “La symphonie des éclairs”, female revelation, stage revelation, and song of the year with “La symphonie des éclairs”.
Only Matthieu Chedid, alias -M-, managed to collect four statuettes in 2005.
Only one award out of five escaped him, that of audiovisual creation, which went to the Belgian rapper Shay and her video “Commando”.
We were betting on Zaho de Sagazan as a “female revelation” and “scene revelation”, but she had a lot of competition in the other categories.
With such a harvest, the young woman from Saint-Nazaire proves that she has become a popular artist.
What could have remained a Parisian fashion became a national success.
Soon a Zéniths tour
In eleven months, she sold more than 50,000 copies of “The Symphony of Lightning” and gave more than a hundred concerts, which is rare for a “developing artist”.
And in a month she will move up a gear with a Zéniths tour with five musicians.
Having quickly filled Nantes and Paris in March, it opened seven new large rooms next November.
Zaho de Sagazan has another asset, his novel name... which is not an assumed name.
His father, Olivier de Sagazan, is a recognized painter, sculptor and performer, his mother is a literature professor.
Their daughter started playing the piano as a teenager to overcome boredom and created hybrid music, which summons the ghosts of Brel in her intense lyrics and Barbara in her sensitive piano as much as the machines and sounds of Berlin techno.

With her friends, she founded a label and supervises everything, the visuals, the clips... “Without sadness, I wouldn't have a job,” this hypersensitive, super hard-worker admitted to us.
