The Hungarian authorities have banned the neo-Nazi march planned for this morning in Budapest on the occasion of the "Day of Honour"

but the organizers still want to hold the demonstration in the surrounding woods.

"Let's not give up, this city is ours"

, the leader of the far-right formation "Legio Hungaria" which is organizing the celebration, Bela Incze, told the Kuruc.info website, outlining the alternative route chosen to avoid a clash with the police, present with large forces in the center of the Hungarian capital.

Another neo-Nazi organization, "Blood and Honor Hungaria", organized a concert on private land, also prohibited by the police, it was also learned in Budapest.

As is known, it was on the occasion of last year's rally that Ilaria Salis went to Budapest where she was arrested and has since been detained on charges of having participated in the physical attack of two right-wing extremists.

The demonstration, which attracts neo-Nazis from many European countries every year, will still be held with participants in military uniforms and neo-Nazi flags, the site reports.

The "Day of Honor" celebrates the attempted sortie from Buda Castle in 1945 by Nazi and Hungarian fascist troops in which about 20 thousand fighters died.

Two anti-fascist demonstrations were also called in Budapest, as part of an international campaign called "Stop Nazi Glorification".

One is called by the anti-fascists of the "Autonom Mozgalom" group.

In a statement on their website, the group recalls that "the soldiers who fell in February 1945 fought for the Third Reich" and therefore "are not heroes": "The rally on the Day of Honor distorts history to try to attract consensus for neo-Nazis."

The second protest against the far right is called by the Association of Hungarian Anti-Fascists (Measz) and began this morning at the "Shoes on the banks of the Danube" Holocaust memorial: "We protest against all violence and fascist resurgences", he told ANSA the president of the organization, Vilmos Hanti.

Roberto Salis, the images in Budapest confirm our fears

"The images of Budapest speak for themselves and confirm the family's fears to follow the advice we receive from the Italian authorities."

Thus Roberto Salis, Ilaria's father, regarding the images depicting the hanged woman which appeared in Budapest in conjunction with the neo-fascist celebrations of the Day of Honor (although not authorized by the police).

Salis is referring to security fears in the event of house arrest in Hungary for the 39-year-old who has been in prison for a year on charges of attacking two right-wing extremists.

Pd, 'Hanged Ilaria is a threat'

"What happened today in Budapest confirms the fears of the family and of Ilaria. The images of the woman hanged at the neo-fascist demonstration are eloquent and shocking. For this reason it is unacceptable that the government does not act and does not intervene to save Ilaria from these threats and dangers It is Minister Nordio's duty to act and not just nod during Minister Tajani's surreal briefing to the Chamber and to work to have her return to Italy."

Thus the democratic deputy, Debora Serracchiani
