The Minister of Agriculture
Francesco Lollobrigida
went to the Riscatto agricultural rally on the Nomentana in Rome, after a meeting with a delegation of the movement.
He was welcomed by the farmers with greetings and handshakes, before sitting at the table with them.
"Good workers and Sardinian shepherds, who gave me the movement's scarf.
I guaranteed my commitment to everyone
. Angry? No, exasperated."
Agriculture Minister Francesco Lollobrigida told Corriere della Sera after last night's meeting at the tractor garrison.
With respect to Renzi's motion of no confidence, "I am very afraid of the people's lack of confidence, rarely the lack of confidence of people who have already lost confidence".
Resign by Tuesday, as Calvani asks?
"The only person I don't intend to meet is a gentleman whose profession I don't know. It makes no sense to talk to those few who have tried to put their hat on this movement."
"The Irpef exemption for everyone is not fair because it benefits those who make millions - the minister continues - Giorgetti has decided to guarantee the farmers most in difficulty, who according to him are around 90% of businesses. The stop to the exemption it was voted on in the Council of Ministers on Giorgetti's proposal by the entire government and I agreed. And now, with great difficulty, we have found further resources and chosen to guarantee a fairer exemption without privileges to those who do not need them. The proposal Giorgetti did the remodeling and I didn't hear Salvini say at the table that it wasn't enough. I have full faith in Giorgetti and I think his proposal is wise."
When asked if the clash with farmers is causing the right-wing electoral base to disappear, the minister replies: "We met the 5 associations that represent 90% of entrepreneurs. Not only are they in line with the government, but they thanked Meloni and Lollobrigida for constant work.
I see a lot of consensus and I think that the controversies come more from small parts of Parliament in search of notoriety than from farmers".
