This Saturday, the Valladolid Fair hosts the annual Goya Awards gala, the party in which the Spanish Film Academy recognizes the best of the seventh national art.

On the road to equality
The 38th Goya gala is the first in which they have more nominations than them: in 61% of the candidacies, individual or collective, there are women, as calculated by the association of women filmmakers and audiovisual media Cima.
In the previous two years, the percentage had been around 40%.
Reports from Cima itself or the European Audiovisual Observatory show, however, that there continues to be a significant wage gap in Spanish cinema or the budget is usually higher, on average, if there is a man behind the camera.
And Pilar Miró, Icíar Bollaín and Isabel Coixet are to date the only three filmmakers to have won the Goya for best director.

Puncture in the concentration of farmers prior to the Goya gala
Several dozen farmers gathered this afternoon near the Valladolid Trade Fair, where the film awards gala will begin in just three hours.
Attendees came on foot after extensive police deployment prevented tractors from moving from the province to the city center.
Those present have come with yellow vests, Spanish flags, cowbells and horns, as well as protest banners in the presence of the police and without incident.
