In 2024 there will be new car badges with the TÜV general inspection.
Read here whether your deadline is expiring and what costs you have to expect:
Anyone who drives their car on German roads must adhere to traffic rules, such as driving on the right, but must also be able to prove that their vehicle is roadworthy by means of the general inspection (HU).
This is due every two to three years and in many cases is carried out by the Technical Inspection Association (TÜV).
That's why "TÜV" is often used interchangeably with HU.
SÜDWEST24 reveals what will change for drivers with the TÜV 2024 and what costs they have to expect.
It is also worth mentioning that TÜV no longer has a monopoly on HU today.
Other providers may sometimes be cheaper.
