New residential neighborhood in Beit Dagan/Corin Architects
The plan that will double Beit Dagan: The District Planning and Construction Committee has finally approved the plan of the Ministry of Construction and Housing to establish a new residential neighborhood in the settlement of Beit Dagan "Etrog".
The plan covers a total area of approximately 614 dunams, and is located southeast of the settlement of Beit Dagan and is a continuous continuation of the existing and approved construction of the settlement.
It includes 2,265 housing units that will be built in a staggered construction: in the northern part of the neighborhood and near the existing settlement, residential buildings of 3-4 stories will be built, and in the southern part of the neighborhood, residential buildings of 7-9 stories will be built, some of which will include a commercial facade.
Out of all the housing units, 453 will be allocated for small apartments and 270 housing units will be allocated for sheltered housing.
In addition to the housing units, the plan includes 18,171 square meters for employment areas, 10,487 square meters for commercial areas, 76 dunams for public areas, including an area for the establishment of a new elementary school and a city park in an area of approximately 50 dunams that will serve all residents of the settlement.
Also, the plan, presented by the architect of the Central District of the Ministry of Construction and Housing, Timor Magarli, creates a sequence of open spaces that connect to the agricultural areas to the east of Beit Dagan.
The program is located outside the noise limits of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
Central District Planner in the Planning Administration, Talila Harel: "This is a significant plan for the settlement of Beit Dagan, since it is located outside the noise limits of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and is actually the last land reserve for development within the settlement.
The plan offers the addition of housing units, employment areas, and public areas required for the development of the settlement and its growth as a significant settlement in the center of the country."
The Chief Director of the Ministry of Construction and Housing, Vared Solomon Meman: "The Etrog plan is one of the first plans in which we placed special emphasis on the design of the textured construction and the creation of continuity of side of the street
In the program, attention was paid to the street corners, we thought about the children who have to cross roads and reach the educational institutions and the open public areas.
We brought something new that has also been incorporated into our other programs for the past four years and is a significant step in upgrading community life in the neighborhood.
I am happy about the approval given to the plan and look forward to seeing it being built and moving from the paper to the field."
The plan was designed by Korin Architects.
