A clogged drain can also be effectively cleaned with natural home remedies.
Baking soda is considered a real miracle cure.
Hair, grease and soap residue can slowly clog the drain in the sink, shower, etc.
The water then no longer flows freely.
In addition, the drain often begins to smell unpleasant.
Natural home remedies can help clean the drain without chemicals - such as baking soda.
Drain clogged – why does baking soda help?
Baking soda (
chemical
sodium hydrogen carbonate) is a sodium salt of carbonic acid.
Because it is contained in baking powder as a raising agent, it is also known as cooking soda or baking soda.
Thanks to its limescale and grease-dissolving properties, baking soda is particularly suitable for cleaning drains.
In addition, baking soda is very environmentally friendly and inexpensive compared to chemical drain cleaners.

Clean the drain with baking soda and vinegar
Is your drain smelling unpleasant again or is it clogged?
Then a mixture of baking soda and vinegar or vinegar essence helps to effectively clean the drain.
The chemical reaction between the two home remedies produces large amounts of carbon dioxide, which can solve minor blockages very well.
That's how it works:
First remove any coarse dirt such as hair or leftover food.
Then pour four tablespoons of baking soda down the sink.
Pour in half a cup of vinegar essence or a cup of vinegar until the mixture begins to bubble.
Allow the baking soda and vinegar (essence) to take effect for a few minutes.
As soon as the bubbling in the drain has stopped, rinse with hot water.
Dissolved grease and soap residue that has stuck in the pipe are washed away and your drain smells fresh again.
