Dessert recall in ten federal states: The dessert sold at Rewe and Kaufland should under no circumstances be consumed - it can cause gastrointestinal diseases.
Kassel - Whether it's foreign bodies in cakes, limit values exceeded in grapes or pesticides in a chicken product - there are many reasons for a recall.
Despite all the safety precautions, it sometimes happens that food products that were already on supermarket shelves have to be recalled.
The federal states and the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) issued around 308 recalls last year on the joint portal
lebensmittelanwalt.de
published.
Salmonella was recorded as the most common cause of a recall.
Another product currently has to be taken off the market because of the bacteria.
Consumption can cause serious gastrointestinal illnesses.

In most cases, salmonella is transmitted through contaminated food.
According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), salmonellosis is one of the most common bacterial diseases in humans.
A typical infection manifests itself as sudden diarrhea, headaches, abdominal pain, general malaise and occasionally vomiting.
Fever also occurs frequently.
Infants, small children, seniors and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk.
Customers who experience the above symptoms after consuming the product should seek medical attention immediately.

According to the internet portal, the affected dessert was sold in the following federal states:

Frequent recalls can be worrying for consumers.
But the BVL assesses the increase in reports as rather positive: “The consistently high number shows that companies in Germany are complying with their legal reporting obligations.
“They now see public recalls as part of responsible management that demonstrates trustworthiness,” says Dr.
Andrea Luger, Head of the Food Safety Department at BVL.
