Giovanni Barreca, the 54-year-old who murdered his family, killing his wife and two children, is said to be a religious fanatic.
According to some rumors, a couple of acquaintances were also involved in the crime.
A third 17-year-old daughter who apparently witnessed the events and was rescued by the 118 paramedics was saved. From what emerged Barreca, a religious fanatic, woke up during the night ranting about having perceived demonic presences in the house.
The girl, the only survivor, got out of bed groggily and saw the bodies of her brothers.
The victims are Antonella Salamone and her children Kevin, 16, and Emanuel, 5. Only
some parts of Antonella Salamone's body were found buried in the land near the couple's home in Altavilla Milicia (Pa).
The woman would have been burned and buried.
The crime would be particularly brutal: one of the killed children would have been tortured and strangled with chains.
