Silver medal for Italy in the 4x100 freestyle at the World Swimming Championships in Doha: Alessandro Miressi, Lorenzo Zazzeri, Paolo Conte Bonin and Manuel Frigo finished second in the final won by China.
The first Chinese competitor, Zhanie Pan, set a new world record in the 100m freestyle with a time of 46.80.
From that moment on, China has always held first place, finishing in 3'11''08, while Italy clocked 3'12''08 and the United States 3'12''29.
In the equivalent women's relay, the Italians finished the final in fifth place, less brilliant than in the previous event (3'38"67).
The gold was won by the Netherlands, who with a time of 3'36"61, preceded Australia, silver, and Canada, bronze.
