So if you still need motivation to go to the gym, you should take a closer look at your health insurance company's bonus program.
If you do sports, don't smoke or keep your BMI within the normal range, you can get money paid out by your insurance company.
But attendance at preventive examinations is also encouraged.

The bonus program is intended as prevention.
To ensure that insured people do not get sick in the first place and the health insurance companies have to pay, preventative measures that contribute to good health are rewarded.
You can have this confirmed at the doctor's office, for example, and get a cash bonus or other amenities in return.

the bonus programs of most health insurance companies reward, among other things, if you are a member of a sports club or fitness studio, complete an exercise course, are within the normal BMI range, go for early cancer detection and dental prophylaxis or complete health courses.
Many health insurance companies have a bonus program with which insured people can get money back.

To take part in a bonus program, you register online and upload the confirmed studies and measures you have taken.
Bonus points are then credited to an account, which can be exchanged for cash, other rewards or subsidies for further health services.
Bonus programs in comparison: Which fund pays the most and for what?
The IKK pays the highest premium: it reimburses its insured persons up to 500 euros.
Anyone who has the preventive examinations carried out that are recommended for their own age and gender will receive the bonus.
This includes dental care, visits to the gynecologist or other check-ups that become more frequent as you get older.
However, the 500 euros are not just a cash bonus, but are also partly vouchers for other health services.

German Financial Service Institute
(DFSI), which carries out a quality check of health insurance companies once a year, DAK impressed with the best bonus program in the state and nationwide in the “Corporate quality of statutory health insurance companies 2022/2023” rating and received an overall rating of very good ( 1.1).
At the national level, the hkk health insurance company followed with an overall grade of good (1.7), followed by Barmer, also with a grade of good (2.0).
In other comparisons that

Bonus programs: This is what DAK, BKK and Co. offer
According to DSFI,
test winner DAK-Gesundheit pays
out bonuses of up to 253.32 euros for five measures and anyone who wants to spend the money on sports equipment or glasses simply has to submit the invoice and receives 1.5 or 2 times the amount of points instead of the actual amount of points paid out.
The Bergische Krankenkasse, which

Focus-Money comparison for the federal states of Hamburg, Hesse and North Rhine-Westphalia, pays up to 300 euros for seven submitted measures and prophylaxis.
The Securvita health insurance company also pays 280 euros for seven measures, the same as the hkk health insurance company, where only five measures are necessary.
Those insured by BKK ProVita and BKK Freudenberg receive 200 euros for five or two measures submitted.
The BKK Faber-Castell & Partner pays 150 euros, as does the vivida bkk, and the currently lowest bonus (as of December 2023) is available from the Salus BKK, which only credits 130 euros for three measures.
