The catalog of fines and the penalties contained therein are regularly adjusted.
Traffic offenders will face these penalties in 2024.
Flensburg – It only takes a moment of carelessness to miss a speed limit.
If you're unlucky, you'll be caught shortly afterwards and receive a fine, possibly points in Flensburg or - if you exceed the speed limit significantly - even a driving ban.
Of the more than four million traffic offenses registered in Germany every year, over half are speeding offenses.
But talking on the phone while driving and ignoring red lights are also common traffic offenses.
The 2024 catalog of fines defines the sanctions for these violations of the road traffic regulations (StVO).
The penalties vary from fines to points in the traffic offenders' register in Flensburg or even the revocation of the driver's license.
Here is an overview of the most common traffic offenses and their penalties.
