Europe needs "a second life insurance" in addition to NATO: the French Foreign Minister, Stéphane
Séjourné
, said this after Donald Trump's words on the Atlantic Alliance.
"We need a second life insurance - said Séjourné in a meeting near Paris with his German and Polish counterparts -, not as a replacement, not against NATO, but in addition".
"The Atlantic Alliance - observed Polish Minister Radoslaw Sikorski - is not a contract with a security company".
The former US president said yesterday that he would encourage Russia to attack NATO countries that will not pay their bills for joining the organisation.
"Any relativization" of support for the Atlantic Alliance is "irresponsible and dangerous".
German Chancellor Olaf
Scholz
said this , speaking at a press conference in Berlin, after a meeting with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
The reference seems clearly aimed at Donald Trump's statements on NATO.
