"If anyone has thought of saving the environment by doing it against farmers rather than with farmers, they simply don't know what they're talking about. To change all this, the next European elections will make the difference, and that's what we plan to do. What farmers are asking for are positions that the Italian government has held in Europe on many dossiers, and we have won on some, such as on pesticides".
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said this in an interview with Tg5, explaining that she "understood" the protests and underlining the "madness of what they said was an ecological transition and was instead an ideological transition".
