A strong rescue operation was deployed in the city of
Monte Hermoso
, province of Buenos Aires, to try to find a 21-year-old young man at sea who this Monday morning
went into the water with a friend and did not manage to get out
.
Axel Malvar, 21 years old and
from Bahía Blanca
, was on the beach with three other friends and, with one of them, he decided to swim, despite the strong waves, the bad weather and the absence of lifeguards.
The incident occurred
between 6 and 6.30
this Monday and was recorded by security cameras.
Malvar, FM Atlántica reported, was working in the southern provincial city and was
dragged out to sea by the current
.
Fernando Vera, head of the security area of the spa city, told the same media: "A
search protocol
was put together that extends to El Sauce, in such a way as to have the entire area covered."
"We have to
wait for the tide to go out
, the intensity of the wind has decreased, so that makes our work easier," added the official.
For its part, the newspaper La Nueva indicated that Civil Defense personnel, lifeguards
, police officers and firefighters from Bahía Blanca
participated in the operation .
The search area, reports Cuatro Vientos, extends to a spa located
almost 8 kilometers
from Monte Hermoso.
The authorities indicated that "weather and sea conditions
do not allow a boat to enter
to expedite the search," despite the improvement in wind conditions during the last few hours.
The cover of the case so far is to
investigate his whereabouts
and, according to the local press, the young man's family is aware of the situation.
