A new boardwalk with 700 trees is currently being built in the Jordan Valley, the purpose of which is to commemorate four fighters who fell in the battles of the "Iron Swords" war in Gaza.

The residents of the settlements represented by Mhola and Mhola, together with the families of the four fallen - Yehuda Natan Cohen, Rabbi Naran Ashchar and Elhanan Ariel Klein, martyrs of the IDF, and Shovel Yaakov, who was murdered at a party in Nova - are embarking on a mass mobilization campaign to commemorate their loved ones, the heroes who fell in the war. The purpose of the campaign is to establish, Development and maintenance of the "Nof Jordan" boardwalk, which will have fruit trees, which will connect the settlements of Hola to Shadom in the Jordan Valley and will contribute to strengthening agriculture and the eastern border of the State of Israel.

The maintenance of the boardwalk will be done by the Association of Connections, which engages volunteers in many agricultural projects throughout the year. The cost of building the boardwalk : 500 thousand shekels.

on the establishment of the path

In the wake of the war and the need for unity, the two historically conflicted settlements - Mhola and Shamt Mhola - decided to unite, at least in a symbolic way.

that a character of Mhola was established from Mhola people 40 years ago, and near the original Mhola.

Due to the desire for unity, an initiative arose to build a path with trees, as mentioned Teilat, between the Yishuvs, in memory of the fallen and for unity between them and the people of Israel, and of course as a Zionist response to the memory of those who fell on the Land of Israel.

The boardwalk, 2.5 km long, will have hundreds of trees, half of which are olive trees for harvesting, and the other half ornamental trees (almond, date, cypress, eucalyptus, etc.). It was erected in the field, the axis was broken by a digger, the irrigation system and zents have already been deployed in the field by volunteers in the last month. The planting will be this week, after being postponed twice because of the rain.

"Commemorating Naran through the boardwalk fulfills his will"

The late Rabbi Naran Ashchar was a hero in his death and in his life: about four months after donating a kidney, he volunteered to fight and fell in battle. His organs were donated to save lives. His widow Zuf Ashchar tells about her husband and his connection to the land: "My dear husband Naran was very connected to the land of Israel , he combined his mission to teach and learn Torah, and his connection to the land.

More than once he chose to study Torah with his students all night, while maintaining a farm.

At the end of his life it was clear to Naran that he was going to fight, even though he had not yet finished recovering from the kidney donation, he knew that he was fighting with his friends for the land.

Commemorating Naran through the boardwalk fulfills his will to settle and protect the land of the land he loved so much."

In these days of Tu Bashvet, they are starting to plant trees along the path that was breached, and so far a little more than one hundred thousand shekels have been collected, and the fundraising campaign has begun - mobilizing for the fallen, unity and settlement, for those interested in helping.
