The investigating judge rejected the request for dismissal made by the Rome prosecutor's office regarding the investigation into the death of Luca Ventre, the 35-year-old Italian who entered the Italian embassy in Uruguay by climbing over the gate and was strangled by one of the vigilantes who blocked him in the courtyard of the diplomatic headquarters.
We learned this from the family's lawyer, Fabio Anselmo.
The investigating judge would also have ordered new investigations within the embassy itself, such as the acquisition of telephone records.
The Prosecutor's Office had requested that the investigation be closed due to its inadmissibility as the suspect had never been present in Italian territory.
