Hundreds of Ivory Coast supporters celebrated their team's victory in the African Cup of Nations final this Sunday evening.
Many of them came to celebrate this third title of the Elephants on the Champs-Élysées in good spirits.
Around 11 p.m., tensions broke out with the police.
“Supporters tried on several occasions to invade the road by setting off firecrackers and setting off fireworks, making car traffic difficult,” the Paris police headquarters said on Monday morning.
“The staff intervened quickly.
During each maneuver, the police were the target of projectiles and tear gas was used in response,” assure the authorities.
