A bad buzz remains a buzz.
Will this adage, dear to those who wish to gain notoriety at high speed, apply to the DVM Show?
This new rap show, which has experienced such a rise in a few months on Twitch that it is already compared to the “Planète Rap” monument on Skyrock, has found itself under fire from critics since Monday evening.
A controversial text sung by one of their guests, like Kaaris, Aya Nakamura or Koba LaD?
Nope.
On Monday, another fan of the “punchline” found herself behind the microphones of the DVM Show: the new Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati.
Receiving a standing ovation upon her arrival in the studios, the mayor of the 7th arrondissement of Paris quickly suggested to the organizers that they come and film a show in her ministry.
“You come with your equipment, you install everything for me and you make me a DVM,” she then promised.
Before enjoying a few dance steps to the rhythm of the melodies sung by the evening's guests.

Since then, criticism has been raining down on X (formerly Twitter).
Towards Rachida Dati, first, who is singled out by the most right-wing figures on the political spectrum.
“Rachida Dati must explain her hilarious presence yesterday at the
DVM show
, a program which permanently promotes the deal,” demanded for example the president of the National Rally, Jordan Bardella.
But the most vehement messages are mainly aimed at the organizers of the program.
“Such an invitation was unimaginable ten or twenty years ago”
“What they did is a lack of respect towards the culture they say they represent and towards the artists they receive on a daily basis,” still seethes Mana, founder of the media Rap'Elles and TrustMag, specialized in music and urban cultures.
Like thousands of Internet users, this young Ile-de-France resident has attacked the DVM Show on X since Monday evening.
The words addressed to the organizers of the show leave no room for doubt: it is indeed Rachida Dati's political orientation as well as the comments made by her allies which are at the origin of the criticism.
“Rachida Dati has long supported Nicolas Sarkozy, the one who wanted to clean our suburbs with karcher,” recalls Mana for example.
“Such an invitation was unimaginable ten or twenty years ago,” underlines Amine Snoussi, author specializing in rap and parliamentary collaborator with La France insoumise (LFI).
So how can we explain that the organizers invited the minister?
Jack Lang to the flames, Macron has Booska P and mtn Dati to the DVM, it's really a shame, these people are pissing on us at the base https://t.co/2Vx7UgKj1D

“Rap is the most listened to music in France, and the number of right-wing and far-right voters continues to increase over the years,” continues Amine Snoussi.
“Inevitably, the rap audience evolves in the same direction as society, and some listeners find themselves in the ideas of Rachida Dati and others.
This has an impact on content creators, who are more conciliatory with political figures.”
Before the DVM Show, the specialized rap media Booska-P had been very heavily criticized in 2022. It had, in the middle of the presidential campaign, broadcast an interview with Emmanuel Macron on its website and its YouTube channel.
