Rocky's voice is gone.

The actor Alain Dorval, French voice of Sylvester Stallone, died at the age of 77 on the night of Monday to Tuesday, his family announced.

He died at the Gustave Roussy hospital, a cancer center in the Paris region, “after so many years fighting the disease,” said a press release.

The man was also the father of Aurore Bergé, Minister for Gender Equality.

Alain Bergé, his real name, went to the Cours Simon and the Paris Conservatory of Dramatic Art.

A knight of arts and letters, he “had just returned to the stage to read

La Chute

de Camus and was currently directing

L’école des femmes

by Molière,” his family further indicates.

He had just returned to the stage

For many French movie fans, he will remain as the voice of Sylvester Stallone in the Rocky and Rambo franchises.

“I started dubbing because I had worked for a TV series, and the person who was in charge of post-synchronization

(studio re-recording of dialogue)

asked me if I was interested,” recalls the artist.

I started with a series called

The Banished

, a post-Civil War story between a black man and a white man.

This person also made me overtake Zabriskie Point

, by Antonioni,

at the same time , then afterwards, I continued.

It was friends from previous generations, like Francis Lax, who sent me to Jacques Barclay, who was responsible for this film with an actor that no one knew, Sylvester Stallone,” he told us in February 2023.

He also distinguished himself as the voice double of American actors Nick Nolte (“48 Hours”) and Danny Aiello (“Radio Days”).

The actor has also lent his voice to heroes of animated films, such as Tiger in the Fievel saga or Pat Hibulaire for that of Goofy and Max.

Alain Dorval finally put his voice in 2021 on the album “Enfantillages 4” by Aldebert, the star of children's songs.
