"The United States does not bow to anyone, let alone Putin."
Joe Biden said this at the White House while urging Congress to approve the law for aid to Ukraine.
"We have united NATO, we cannot leave now", warned the American president, addressing the Republicans and recalling that "history concerns us".
"Trump has said shocking, shameful, anti-American things about Putin. And the most terrible thing is that he believes it."
Biden added, accusing the former president of having "bowed to a dictator".
"No American president has ever done it. I won't do it," he declared.
"For Trump, principles don't matter", the president said again.
