According to a report by 

ga.de, 

in Bornheim (North Rhine-Westphalia), for example, there is a risk of a fine of up to 500 euros if waste glass is disposed of on Sundays or during other rest times.

In Ofterdingen (Baden-Württemberg) it can be even more expensive - here, according to the local administration, at least 5 euros and possibly even up to 5,000 euros are due.

If the container is already full, you have to take your old glass back with you - placing the bottles next to it is not allowed, also for safety reasons.
