The Revolutionary Guards launched a long-range ballistic missile from their warship for the first time, amid concerns from the United States and its allies about Iran's missile activities and its support for military operations by regional militias, called resistance groups by the Iran, particularly in the Gaza war.
“The success of the test demonstrated Iran's naval power and the improvement of its naval capabilities to strike any target around the world,” said Revolutionary Guards commander Hossein Salami, quoted by Mehr.
