You don't have to take half the day to enjoy delicious food from the oven.
According to the recipe from
simply baking,
the actual working time is only around 20 minutes - similar to the preparation time for the delicious Swabian carnival cakes - after which the dough is processed into a beautiful, juicy chocolate and cherry cake in around 50 minutes.
Dark chocolate, fresh cherries and sour cream provide the savory taste.

Ingredients for a savory chocolate cherry cake
For a delicious chocolate cherry cake you need:
100 g dark chocolate
200 g soft butter
4 eggs
170g sugar
250 g flour
200 g sour cream
1 pinch of salt
2 tbsp baking cocoa
2 teaspoons of baking soda
1 glass of morello cherries
some butter for the baking pan
some powdered sugar

Preparation of the juicy chocolate cherry cake
Roughly chop the dark chocolate and then melt it in a water bath.
Grease your baking pan properly with butter and in the meantime preheat the oven to 160 degrees.
Now mix the butter with the sugar and then gradually add the eggs and the sour cream.
Then mix salt, cocoa and baking powder and add the ingredients to the dough.
The only thing missing is the chocolate, which you have to fold in.
Pour your cherries – morello cherries – into a sieve and let them drain.
Then you will also add the fruit to the dough and fold it in.
Pour the dough into your already greased baking pan and smooth it out.
The dough mixture must then be baked in the preheated oven for between 50 and 55 minutes.
When the cake is ready, let it cool down.
Finally, sprinkle the fresh chocolate cherry cake with powdered sugar and serve.
