"We are in the election campaign, everyone is running for themselves and for their own symbol but it is important to always work in the interests of the citizens, Fi has never raised his voice, he is working on concrete solutions, we are not riding on the protests but we are aiming to solve the problems".
Thus the deputy prime minister and foreign minister Antonio Tajani on the tensions in the majority in light of the tractor protest.
"The protest is made by part of the agricultural world and starts from discontent especially with European rules which we have always condemned because they are ideological, they are bad for both agriculture and industry".
The protests "focus above all on the theme of necessity: water is the number one problem, if we don't address this issue we risk causing permanent damage to agriculture. Then there is the fundamental issue of wildlife: there are too many wild animals that destroy the land. We have it in Rome, imagine what happens in the countryside. This is why the law on hunting must be changed", continued the minister.
"And then we need a strategic vision, also based on research, to strengthen our agricultural production system: we must work on assisted evolution technologies".
