Antonio Conte is eager to return to the bench: the batteries are loaded "too much", it's time to leave the good retreat in Turin to pursue the ultimate dream of his career, winning the Champions League also as a coach.
In an exclusive interview given to the Daily Telegraph newspaper the interested party does not go too far, he avoids saying where he hopes to work next year, limiting himself to saying that he has rejected several offers from Europe, as well as the possibility of returning to coaching the Italy.
"I wasn't in a hurry to return - Conte's words -. I took some time, for myself and for my family. It's true, my father is pushing for me to return soon, but it was important to recharge myself, physically and mentally. Now, however, the My only problem is that I have too much energy, and I'm annoying my wife."
Conte is a serial winner, but he has by no means run out of ambition.
"I would like to win the Champions League as a coach one day, I would like to give this joy to my father. People think it's easy, but it's not like that at all. You have to be able to stay at the right club, with which you share the same ambition, and that ready to do what it takes to win it."
The interview was also an opportunity to share "the worst moment on a personal level" of his recent past, due to his health problems and the close deaths of Vialli, Ventrone and Mihajlovic.
Between playing well and winning, Conte confirms that he has no doubts, even if he admits - recognizing Guardiola as "the best coach in the world - that the best is "winning and playing well". "I'm thinking of a new module, with the defense four.
But playing three at the back doesn't mean being defensive.
On the contrary, I think that balance is always the key to every victory, and then you have to know how to make the most of the players available." As he has often managed in his career, even if winning - he swears - is not an obsession. "It is rather a responsibility.
When you have won a lot, the expectations are always very high.
To be successful I have to win, otherwise there are many who are just waiting to be able to celebrate my failure."
