"I'm not the secretary, please. Let's clarify this straight away. There isn't a secretary in our statute, there is the president and it's Giorgia Meloni".
Arianna Meloni, Fdi manager and sister of Prime Minister Giorgia, specifies this in an interview with Il Secolo d'Italia.
A double "role" that she carries out without embarrassment and about which she jokes: "Am I the sister of Italy? If Italy is involved, how can it displease me, am I a patriot or not?".
But it is a well-defined role and at the European elections, for example, she says no: "I think I can be useful by doing something else. Instead, if Giorgia decided to do it it would be an added value".
Around her, Arianna Meloni admits, there is a lot of enthusiasm.
"Maybe I'm the sister but she is the undisputed leader. FdI is a structured party.
We are united by a common feeling and the desire to do well".
"Some say that Giorgia Meloni has a magic circle of hers, those with whom she grew up ... she is not like that", she assures.
"You have always had a lot of respect for the party bodies. You are capable of being objective even in the face of your own sympathies."
