The media specialist in crowned heads Histoires royales has traced the family tree of Gabriel Attal.
Elected prime minister on January 9, 2024, the latter would thus have... royal blood in his veins.
Indeed, if we are to believe the data from the royalty expert site, Emmanuel Macron's right arm would have family ties with the monarchies of France and Navarre.
He would be, among others, the distant cousin of King Harald V of Norway, King Felipe VI of Spain, and even the sovereign of the United Kingdom, Charles III.

The White Russians of Odessa
Born in 1989 in Hauts-de-Seine, Gabriel Nissim Attal (

) initially has Tunisian Jewish origins on his father's side.

reports that on his father's side, he is the son of Yves, a lawyer and film producer as well as the great-grandson of Élie, a Tunisian who married an Italian from the family of painter Modigliani.
His mother, Marie de Couriss, descended from a family of “White Russians”, a term which designates Russian monarchists.
The daily
La Croix
adds that the latter had young Gabriel baptized in a Russian Orthodox church on rue Daru, in the 8th arrondissement of Paris.
The father of Marie de Couriss and grandfather of Attal was the son of Baroness Maria de Meyendorff.
The latter herself had as great-grandmother Princess Daria Galitzine (1761-1828), descendant of Prince Mikhail Mikhailovich Galitzine, grand ambassador to Persia.

It is from this side that improbable cousins between Gabriel Attal and the Spanish, Danish and British sovereigns would arise.
Indeed, among the ancestors of the said prince Mikhail Mikhailovich Galitzine, we would find a certain Ivan Bariatinsky, husband of Princess Catherine of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderbourg-Beck.

then reports that the latter's family would have reigned over Denmark, but also in Greece and the United Kingdom.
And that on the side of these Becks, Gabriel Attal would thus be a (very) distant cousin with six monarchs: King Frederik X of Denmark, King Harald V of Norway, King Philippe of Belgium, Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg, King Felipe VI of Spain and King Charles III of the United Kingdom.
A sprawling lineage demonstrated in images on the media site, which also attributes to Attal an “extremely distant” relationship with Prince Albert II of Monaco.
