In 2023, INPS paid almost 18 billion euros (17,986.3 million) to families for the single and universal allowance for dependent children.

This can be read in the Observatory on the Single Allowance which highlights that overall, there were 6,479,173 families with at least one allowance received in the year (including those who received it with the Citizenship Income) for 10,021,926 children.

The average number of families per month in 2023 was 5,932,851.

Spending in 2022 (from March, when it was introduced, to December amounted to 13.2 billion.
