In December, industrial production increased by 2.6% in both the euro area and the EU, compared to November when it increased by 0.4% in the euro area and 0.5% in the EU.
Eurostat reports this.
On an annual basis, industrial production fell by 2.4% in the euro area and by 2% in the EU.
In Italy growth in December was 1.1%.
Among the Member States for which data is available, the highest monthly increases were recorded in Ireland (+23.5%), the Netherlands (+6.6%) and Denmark (+5.6%).
Biggest drops in Slovenia (-7.4%), Croatia (-4.3%) and Finland (-2.7%).
Highest annual increases in Ireland (+44.7%), Denmark (+6.7%) and Malta (+5.0%).
Largest drops in Slovenia (-10.2%), Hungary (-8.7%) and Bulgaria (-6.9%).
