The Al Jazeera journalist, Ismail Abu Omar, wounded yesterday in Gaza in an Israeli raid "is a deputy company commander of the Eastern Battalion of Hamasa Khan Yunis".

The military spokesman said this, underlining that "Abu Omar filmed himself in the Nir Oz kibbutz during the October 7 massacre and published the photo on social media".

The army then released the self-timer portraying Abu Omar in the kibbutz.

Yesterday the Qatari broadcaster reported the injury of its reporter together with a colleague.
