The museum celebrates all types of artists and musical genres, not just rock'n'roll.

The former Oasis singer did not mince his words, commenting virulently on the group's nomination for the prestigious American distinction on the X platform on Monday.

“Don't waste your time voting for Oasis, although it's appreciated, it's just a load of bullshit.”

Liam Gallagher, always so level-headed in his comments, is not delighted with Oasis' eligibility for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and clearly expresses this to his fans who support him on social networks.

The ceremony rewarded legends like the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica and Nirvana.

The museum, based in Cleveland, has just made public the list of nominees for the year 2024. Among them, Mariah Carey, Sinead O'Connor, Lenny Kravitz, Ozzy Osbourne and Oasis, the former group led by the Gallagher brothers.

For many artists, entering the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame is a consecration.

But Liam Gallagher does not agree.

“Fuck the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

,” he protested on X, formerly Twitter.

I don’t need a wanker’s trophy from some old guy in a cowboy hat.”

The 51-year-old singer, named alongside Mariah Carrey in particular, criticizes the museum, among other things, for celebrating all types of artists and musical genres, not just rock'n'roll.

On the social network, fans interact with the singer who plays the game and responds to most comments.

Those who want to know if the group will get together on this occasion are served:

“The other kid loves hanging out with celebrities, so he will probably go.

As for me, I will wash my hair and give myself a pedicure and a manicure.

The list of selected artists will be revealed on April 26.

Half of the nominees will be inducted at the end of a ceremony, organized this fall in Cleveland, Ohio and broadcast on Disney +.

As a quick reminder, to be eligible for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, an artist or group must have made their first commercial recording at least twenty-five years before the year of nomination.

The breakup of Oasis

A little flashback: brotherly relations between Liam and Noel have not been in good shape since the dissolution of Oasis fifteen years ago.

As a reminder, the group broke up at Rock en Seine, a few minutes before going on stage.

This evening of August 28, 2009, fans remember it.

Now historic, it has long left a bitter taste, for festival-goers and organizers alike.

Around 10 p.m., Noel left Saint-Cloud, leaving the festival staff

to

announce the sad news to the 30,000 people who came to sing Oasis' biggest hits:

“Liam and Noel fought.

The group no longer exists and cancels the rest of its tour

Fifteen years later, the two brothers do not seem reconciled.

Both began solo careers, less acclaimed than the one they had together.

Liam will make his return in March, with a collaborative album alongside John Squire, the former guitarist of the Stones Roses.

“It will be the best record since Revolver by the Beatles

,” he promised in all humility, still on X.
