The Milan Court of Assizes of Appeal has confirmed the sentence of life imprisonment and a year and a half of daytime solitary confinement for Alessandro Maja, the 60-year-old interior designer who, on the night between 3 and 4 May 2022, killed in the family home in Samarate (Varese) hit his 16-year-old daughter Giulia and his wife Stefania Pivetta, 56, with a hammer while they were sleeping.
Immediately afterwards the man also tried to kill his eldest son Nicolò, 23 years old, who was left seriously disabled and today absent from the trial because he was hospitalized for a new scheduled surgery.
